• publishes no sponsored or paid content,
• has no affiliate links and earns no commission from any link, and
• takes no referral fees from lenders, brokers, real estate agents or other companies.

Every outbound link on the site goes to an official or primary source, such as a federal agency or an official program page.

If that changes

If we ever add advertising, sponsorships or affiliate links to support the site, we will:

1. update this page first, with the date and a plain description of each relationship,
2. label each paid or affiliate link where it appears, next to the link itself,
3. mark affiliate links with rel="sponsored" so search engines know they are paid,
4. keep paid placements out of the short answer and out of our editorial conclusions, and
5. never let a company pay to change, review or remove an answer.
